A few months and 8lbs later...

A week after writing my last post I found out I was pregnant.
I had a panic attack.
A panic attack I couldn't medicate to make go away.
I was due June 2, 2015.
Morning sickness started right away..
I was starving all the time.  My stomach was a bottomless pit and the only thing that didn't make me sick--carbs.  But I figured it was all for the health of the baby...and I would balance it all out in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters with my healthy eating plan.
At about 6 weeks, my all day pregnancy sickness landed me in bed.  The nurse told me it was just really bad pregnancy sickness.  No this was something else, I thought.  Doctor called in Zofran.
At 7 weeks we had an ultrasound.  Little baby measured 6 weeks 1 day.
At 8 weeks I was sick again. No news from the doc on the ultrasound.  But my clothes were getting tighter...I was still feeling sick...
At 9 weeks I had spotting...the doctor said it was normal.  I insisted on an appointment.
She saw me, examined me and gave me a script for an ultrasound for "peace of mind".  She said everything was ok and I could go the next week for an ultrasound--no need to rush.
The next day I went to the ultrasound...it was the first day I had to wear maternity pants...
The tech wouldn't tell us anything...but we knew...
And a day later my doctor finally called to tell us that the baby stopped developing at 6 weeks.  'You can pass it on your own--I'm not doing a D&C for something so little".
So I switched doctors.

At 10 weeks, I saw my new doctor and he scheduled a D&E for a few days later.
And before I could make it there, things finally started on their own.  I had to go to the hospital because I was losing too much blood.  I had an emergency D&E.  I was kept in the hospital because I lost too much blood and was being observed for consideration of a blood transfusion.  Fortunately I made it out...

And now I am 2 weeks post surgery, finally regaining my strength.  We are taking a break from trying so my body can heal and I'm starting my plan to lose the 15lbs or so that I've gained from being sick and being pregnant.

Stay tuned.
