Week 6
When weigh-in is on your birthday, weigh in the day before!!
I lost 1 pound this week, putting me back to where I was a month ago. I'm a little depressed about this but not surprised. I was not faithful to my diet and I lost all accountability the week my old boss passed away.
This week started with some kind of stomach irritation that may or may not have been related to the e.coli found in the drinking water last week. Once I got over that, I was feeling pretty great.
Hormones are all over the place but they seem to have evened out again. And I got a stye in my eye.
On Wednesday, I had my health physical at work. In order to get my health insurance discounts or in my case reimbursement, I have to complete certain tasks. So I sat with a nurse and she checked my cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar, BMI and % body fat. We got into a discussion about my low carb diet and what I should do to lower my cholesterol. My triglycerides were good, which I was happy about.
After, I spoke to the RetroFit representative. I figured if they can accommodate my diet, I wouldn't mind having a coach to report to to see if that keeps me more accountable. I am on a wait list because my BMI isn't high enough to be accepted into the program automatically. I guess that's good but kind of a bummer.
On Thursday, I went to Physical Therapy. My SI joint has been feeling better and my whole lower back and pelvis has felt stronger. Unfortunately when I got on the treadmill, my back wasn't happy--even with 20 second runs, I felt the joint slipping. Ugh. I REALLY want to exercise!!
Friday was my birthday and all I knew was that we were going out to breakfast and dinner and there was something planned for the afternoon. It turns out that something was a massage from my good friend Andrea--we met in massage school, which she finished and has gone on to become an amazing massage therapist.
After my relaxing massage, we went home and got the kids to rest before going to dinner and my mom and dad's house for cake--we picked up a cake from my favorite place--Sweetsboro Bakery.
Saturday was spent with (almost) my entire family at my cousin's daughter's graduation party. It was so great to see so many of my cousins and to introduce my oldest daughter to her extended family. It was a beautiful day!
I wish the weekend didn't have to end! I'm looking forward to a new beginning and a fresh start this week with hopefully all of these weird illnesses behind me.
