Focusing on my Goal
This is an excerpt from an email I sent a dear friend who is also on the IP diet.
(with my current schedule, blogging is harder to find time for and I pretty much unleashed a blog post of an email on her, so to save time for me (and her--since she's already read this! ha!) here's what's up.
"...I have been having trouble staying on track this last month...with the shift to 4-10s my whole eating schedule is different. Where I used to be hungry at 10, I'm hungry at 8:30. And then there's 3 more hours until lunch! And then 7 hours until dinner...I need more snacks!! And leaving early in the morning, I've been forgetting my veggies...
And that's only little stuff...I have been running and mentally I think that I've been letting myself think that "Oh I just ran and I burned 280 calories so I can eat a little of this and a little of that" because I reached my clothing goal...well, it's not the calories that matter, it's the carbs and I have been a little too relaxed about it.
The scale said that I had 8lbs left to my goal, BEFORE I went to training in Florida. Last week when I got back, it took me the weekend to lose the weight I had gained--which said to me that it was mostly a few bad choices and the fact that I couldn't control how everything I ate was cooked (more butter, oil, sodium that normal). I vowed that I would be back on track this week.
Yea. Um...I was pretty good...I made a few little bad choices but nothing I hadn't done before and nothing that had impacted my weight loss before...plus, I was on a new week of couch to 5k....I was running for a longer period of time!
Somehow in the last week, with trying to get back on track, I gained 4lbs...I was sick about it. "
So I am happy to report that this morning I was down 2lbs of the 4 that I gained...now only 4lbs from where I was a few weeks ago and 12lbs from my goal.
I know I can do this.
