Weigh In: Week 29

Weigh in for Week 29 was cancelled due to the fact that I couldn't stand, sit, walk, turn, move, cough, laugh or sneeze without feeling like my lower back was going to disconnect itself from the rest of my body.

It wasn't until yesterday (Tuesday) that I could actually move freely and use the bathroom by myself.

On Friday, I took a tumble out of the house and into the garage because I forgot that my husband had told me that he was removing the garage steps...so, while carrying our 21 month old child, I walked outside to see him.  He looked horrified as I smiled and said HI!! and dropped to the floor as my right ankle gave out underneath me and my left leg and back took all of the weight of my body plus the baby.

She is fine.  Not a scratch, dent or bump.  Me, on the other hand...my shins are scraped and bruise, my ankle is swollen and on Sunday my back decided it was giving up.

I couldn't move.  I couldn't bend down to dress myself.  I tried to use the bathroom and almost passed out from the pain of trying to lower myself to the potty.

A visit to Urgent Care got me a week of rest, some muscle relaxers and prescription pain relief.  The next day I visited the chiropractor.  I wasn't sure if I felt better or worse after leaving there but by the end of Monday I was able to use the bathroom without having someone else pull down my pants.  I think that's a success.  And my dear friend came over and gave me a massage--another plus.  I spent yesterday thinking that I was feeling better but after today I realize that the progress of Tuesday was only due to the muscle relaxers talking.

My weight this week has gone up and down.  I honestly can't say that I've cared to follow any kind of diet.  I am tired and in pain and making smart choices is considered a success right now.

As of this morning, I have neither lost nor gained a pound.  We will see what the rest of the week and weekend bring.  I'm hoping for some relief soon.
