Back from Vacation!
A real vacation! Like, we went away!
I allowed myself a few cheats because I have been looking forward to this vacation since I started losing weight--bathing suit time!! But for the most part, I was good...
Here's what I ate off the diet during the course of 8 days, in no particular order:
a piece banana cream pie (made with sugar free pudding)
a piece of cheesecake
chicken korma with basmati rice and naan (yummmm)
beer (at a microbrewery and the Indian restaurant)
wine
a piece of bread (because I had to try it!)
vanilla soft serve on a cone
frozen yogurt
I had a total gain of .6lbs from the time I left to the time I returned. I also continued my running and did some floor/body weight exercises to try to keep my body in shape.
So we managed to get a few good days in while at the beach and then the hubster and I went to Virginia where it rained the entire time. But we had plans to be indoors one of the days so it worked out well and we headed back to the beach for the 4th of July.
It was a great and relaxing time. I am not looking forward to going back to work--mostly because I can't seem to get my head back into the game--I can hardly remember what it was that I was doing before I left!
But I'm easing myself back into diet mode...had to do some food shopping and get my veggies and meats back in the house. It felt good to take a break but still make smart choices. I need to get back on track though and get myself where I want to be so I can reach my goal!!!
Meanwhile--I am still doing really well with the running. 5 min max runs...today I did 36 minutes and 2.5 miles...my goal for this year's 5K was 36 minutes and I have just under 3 months to get there.
