Reality Check
Hi!
Remember me? The dedicated "on her way to reaching her goals but then reached them in the closet but on the scale and then started working longer hours so she lost her focus" Ideal Protein dieter?
I'm still here. Still trying to focus.
Today has been hard. I cannot figure out what will get me through the morning and the afternoon until dinner time without feeling so hungry and weak that I cave.
Have I explained this yet?
Old schedule:
Wake Up: 6:15am
Breakfast 7:30-8am (on the way to work)
Snack: (if needed) 9:30
Lunch: 11:30
IP lunch protein: (if not at lunch) 1pm or 3pm
Dinner: 7:00pm
IP Snack - sometime after dinner and before bed
I was always satisfied. Never had cravings. Slept well. Felt well rested for the most part.
New Schedule:
Wake Up: 5:00am
Breakfast: 6:00am (on the way to work)
Snack: I'm starving by 8:15am
Lunch: 11:30
IP lunch protein: with lunch
1:00-5:00 - starving because I ate my snack...sometimes will eat another IP packet
Dinner: 7:30-8:00pm
IP Snack - if I didn't eat it earlier, although sometimes I eat another to avoid something off the diet
I am always hungry. I have cravings all the time. I am not sleeping well and I'm tired all the time.
And yes, those you of shaking your head at me, I know. I haven't been faithful 100%. Especially last week with all of the birthday celebrations and overload of sugary temptations.
But I also have to look at everything that has changed...I started making bad choices because of stress and exhaustion (that eating the right food won't fix). I started running to fight the stress and to give me more energy instead of turning to food for energy (as in bad food for energy). The more I ran, the more I noticed my weight loss slowing down. Was I closet eating? Most people have said to me "You know, some people think that because they exercised they can cheat a little..."
Yea. SOME PEOPLE. But I was burning 300 calories on a run and only eating an extra IP packet if I felt weak/hungry from the run...I know that it's not about calories for me--it's about carbs...and my treadmill doesn't calculate carbs burned, just calories.
/sigh. SO I'm at a point where I am trying to decide if I want to press on for the next 5 weeks of this schedule and give up running and focus on the diet and drop the last 15lbs and then pick up running again so that I can complete my 5k on September 28th. But I need to decide what is more important...completing my run in under 36 minutes or meeting my weight loss goal. The two, apparently, are mutually exclusive.
Hoping to weigh in tonight. Phase 1, Part 2.
