Pushing Through

I REALLY didn't want to exercise tonight. Kid #1 is sick, still. She had a stomach virus on Friday. She kicked that Saturday morning. Then a fever started Sunday night into Monday...
....Just in time for hubby to start vomiting Sunday night into Monday morning and spending the ENTIRE day on the couch...
...leaving me with the 14 month old who is cutting a tooth, took a spill off the bed and has had a cough and runny nose for over a week.
So, it was a long day at the end of a long weekend and the beginning of what feels like is going to be a very long week.
I didn't want to run. I told myself I would look for a workout video but, alas, there is no space or location in the space I have where I could workout. Since I was on my iPad, I looked at my Couch to 5K app and thought...hmm...I could do day 3 of week 3...2 and 3 minute runs. Sure!
And I did my thing...got dressed, went to the basement, started up my playlist, took my selfie for Facebook (which always makes me laugh and puts me in a good mood) and started my 5 minute warm up.
Somewhere in the middle of a 3 minute run, I started to feel like giving up. I was pushing my speed and I started to get discouraged that I just can't seem to run more than 3 minutes. I texted a friend who assured me that I will get passed this and I will make progress. I really wanted to give up.
During my 3 minute walk, I thought about how much progress I've made. Just about 4 years ago I thought it was amazing that I was walking at a 3.5 and running at a 4.5. A-MAZING.
And now I warm up at a 3.7 and run at a 5.0, sometimes 5.2 because my old 4.8 from November is too slow. WHAT?
It was awesome and I felt great. I pushed through that last few runs/walks and cooled down. And then I decided to do some core and arm works out.
Hence, the pictures. Sometimes you just have to be silly and let loose.
