Discoveries...

It's Saturday.  (No, that's not the big discovery.)

The grocery order is placed. (Not it either, although seriously?  Shop From Home is awesome.  I want to hug my personal shopper each week.)

It is kind of nice that every Sunday morning my refrigerator is a little sparce...and by Sunday night it's jammed packed.  Yea, I know, it's because I food shopped.  I'm not talking about that part....I'm talking about the fact that most of my groceries are REAL food that needs to be frozen or refrigerated and we use just about all of it in a week's time.  And oddly enough, my grocery bill is, on average, $50-100 less each week.

Was I really spending that much money on "bad for us" food?

It is hard to say...because I am still buying certain things for the husband...but I haven't bought Smart Ones lunches or breakfasts, Bob Evans sandwiches or burritos in over a month...I used to almost always buy a frozen pizza each week, for those emergency nights...we don't eat those anymore, although there is one in the freezer for those of us who DO still eat them and might be having an emergency.

So, what's different?

I have been cooking dinner every night.  And lunch on the weekends.

It's awesome...but I'll be honest, it starts to get really old...we have pork, beef, chicken, fish and shellfish, cauliflower, cauliflower and broccoli and more cauliflower each week and I'm running out of recipes...

Until NOW.

I discovered this site tonight.

Yes, there are lots of recipes out there but this one...HAS PICTURES!

We had the Moroccan Shrimp with Spinach.  It was really tasty and the baby tried a piece of spinach and then started shoving it in her mouth by the fistful.  So not only is it approved by a non-IPer, it's also 16 month old approved.  Although I do kinda have a weird kid.  She doesn't like typical kid foods.

Anyway, if for some reason someone other than my family stumbles onto this site looking for IP info and recipes, be careful with some of these--I noticed that certain veggies that aren't considered Phase 1 (at least for me) are being used.

Anyway, I can't wait until I pick up the groceries!  Lots of recipe ideas for the week ahead!!
