Chef V 3 Day Cleanse: Day 2

Day 2

5:25am - OMG. I HAVE A RAGING HEADACHE. If I didn't know better, I would think I had too many glasses of wine last night. Or allergies. Or a end of cycle hormone headache.  Ugh. Could this be from the cleanse?!

I don't know if it is detox related, allergy  or sleep related.  And I am hungry. And I am lightheaded.
Something I know about myself: If I don't eat protein before bed, my blood sugar goes all sorts of crazy the next day.

I lost a little over 2lbs.  Maybe 3. I can't remember where I started.  The ice cream mistake from last Monday is gone.

6:18am - I got out of the shower and thought I was going to pass out.  I had 14 of the 16oz of water, head pounding in the back, by my neck--my usual spot when something is out of alignment.  I felt myself fading. I grabbed half of a SoFit bar and ate it.  I don't care if it wrecks everything; I have two small children and I have to go to work today. I need to be on and functioning.

Last night, I was in bed by 10:45 and was up at 11:52 and 1:07 with the baby.  She woke again at 4:00am.  That's when I noticed the headache.  My jaw hurts too. And my teeth.  I must have been clenching while I slept.

So here I sit, shaking, feeling like I am going to pass out so I grabbed my blood sugar monitor and tested (had to monitor my sugar  during pregnancy even though I didn't have any issues with blood sugar) and I fully expected it to say 65, 72, 46...something low...even 85 makes me feel ill.  98.  My blood sugar was 98.

I feel like I have been punched in the face, my upper back/neck is stiff but I have normal energy.
And maybe this is TMI but I know you're wondering yes, I have normal bowel movements--even on a liquid diet.

7:00am - Green Drink. It really needs something.  Like...10 more apples.

8:00am - At work now.  Made my shake.  Everyone looked at it and said "you have to drink that?".  There were a few raised eyebrows and curled lips...it does look like lake water when you don't shake it up.  Haha.

9:00am-11:00am - In training.  Brought the rest of my SoFit bar with me because I can't risk having a panic attack from being lightheaded.  I ate it while drinking about 56oz of water.  I did noticed that my eyesight seemed sharper and I was much more engaged in my training.

12:05 - OMG I HAVE TO PEE. But dang I feel energized.  And I ran into a co-worker who said "You're smaller!" I still have a slight headache in my eyes but for the most part, my really bad headache started to fade on my way to work.

12:30 - Green Drink time.  And this time IT'S GOOD! I added half a pack of Stevia.  I think that's on the approved list of things I can have but at this point, I was about to scrap this whole deal and get a burger in the cafeteria so half a pack of Stevia is like way better, in my opinion.

AND THEN THIS HAPPENED.

2:30pm - I had my 28oz of water followed by another Green drink at 2:00pm.  And then it happened. I was cold. Then my hands were so cold they were stiff. Then my arms felt like ice water was running through them. Then I must have stopped breathing while freaking out about this strange feeling that reminded me of either pitocin or thr epidural (I can't remember which one made me cold and shivering) because suddenly I felt the familiar feelings of passing out.  I startled.  My hands were shaking. I took a deep breath and became way too aware of ever-y-thing. Oh God Help...a panic attack.  The adrenaline rush, dip is blood sugar, shaking...no no no this can't happen.

I got up and walked around. I grabbed another SoFit bar and took a bite while fumbling for my blood sugar monitor.  91.  I grabbed salt and put some under my tongue. Thoughts running through my mind--too much water, water toxicity, not enough minerals, hospital, dying because of a cleanse...yup, I was pretty sure that I was going to die.

I got up to go to the bathroom. When I  get nervous so does my stomach. And I had a very full bladder. My head still felt funny. Coming down from the panic attack.

2:50 PM - I asked to leave work 10 minute early. I wanted to get home before it got worse and I didn't want to die at work. Although, we have EMTs at work so I would have been taken care of, but I needed to flee.

3:30pm - I am home. I made it to the bathroom. Nothing crazy but it was very effective.  My co-worker gave me some trail mix with nuts and raisins and chocolate in it.  I had a few handfuls in the car and I started warming up.

I talked to my sister and apparently feeling cold during a juice cleanse is normal because your digestion slows so the "furnace" is off so you can start absorbing the nutrients in the food.

Well that's super neat but this was more than feeling cold. This was weak and stiff and cold. If I were to do this again, I would not go to work.

So I stopped following the strict guidelines of the cleanse. I can't be a mom, an employee, a wife and a cleanser all at the same time. I don't sleep enough, my kids are still very dependent on me (duh they are only 4.5 ans 7 months, lol) and I need to ease into it.

Another thing I was wondering about...I haven't been nursing Eliana but this afternoon I was suddenly very engorged. It takes energy to make milk and maybe that played a part in how I felt.

I pumped when I got home because I was very uncomfortable.  The milk was very creamy--more than I have ever seen it.  All of those nutrients were in the milk. Unfortunately because I am releasing toxins, I figured I should dump it because those toxins might be in the milk.

So for dinner I had the detox soup and a salad with chicken. My stomach hurts. I will deal.

I plan on finishing the Green Drink and incorporating the shake and soup into my diet over the next few days.

And then I will be on to the next thing--Plexus and low carb/healthy diet.

I'll blog again tomorrow.
