It's a New Dawn, a New Day...
Ahhh, Sunday. A new week. A new day...new groceries...a whole new beginning.
I started off the day with an IP Pina Colada drink with a little something special added to it. No, it's not what you're thinking. I haven't gone crazy and added RUM to my breakfast!!! (That would be awesome! Ok not really but yea...maybe on a weekday...ok no I didn't just say that...) I added...baby spinach!
It was an experiment of sorts...I didn't want to fully commit because I was hungry and didn't want to ruin my drink--I only picked up 3 of them this week for said experiment. So I added about 1/2c baby spinach. It was a light, minty green color and if it made a difference in taste it was for the better.
Lunch...I had the Chicken Ala King soup stuff and some steamed broccoli and cauliflower with seasonings. I was stuffed. Verdict is still out on the C.A.K. It is filling and that's why I wanted it. Not totally in love with the flavor though. It needs real chicken in it. And a crust.
/sigh.
I then boiled up a rutabaga with an onion, chopped...not sure if that's IP (the onion, boiled)...I mean, it's boiled, not sauteed. Does that matter? I then mashed it all up and seasoned it and now I have a decent amount of mashed rutabaga for lunches this week.
I also realized today that I haven't had any celery in the last few days. That's my go to snacky-snack food when I get cravings. Maybe that's what's up? The celery in the fridge is salty...the store closest to home tends to have salty celery...I will be picking up my grocery order after I finish this post at the OTHER store so I will have new unsalted celery for snacking. I'm really not sure WHY it's salty. And it's not even good salty...it's like...ocean water salty...and I don't really want salty celery but if I salted my celery it would taste better than the celery in my fridge. (I just dedicated way too much blog space to salty celery.)
Now I need to figure out what we're having for dinner. I've kinda been avoiding that because I forgot to take something out to defrost and I didn't buy...oh! wait! I did! Chicken Sausage!! WAHHOOO!!!! With peppers and cauliflower rice!!!
OK, I have delayed long enough....time to go get the groceries and start my new week. Now if the cauliflower would chop itself while I'm gone...
