Cleaning Out My Closet

So today I started the task of cleaning out my closet.  I should have taken a "before" picture but I would have never posted it anyway--it was embarrassing.

Here's part of it so far:

Funny thing about cleaning out my closet...I found a lot of clothes that I had saved to hang on to just in case I lost weight.  And it's funny to me to see what I thought was important...each phase of my weight gain has something for each phase of my life.  I threw out 2 giant trash bags of clothes--old, ratty, over-worn clothes. And I packed up a small white bag for Goodwill.  That was only from the clothing on the shelves in the front.  I haven't even had a chance to go through what is on the racks and behind them...there are totes going back to the wall behind those clothes.

I feel refreshed...like I finally dealt with things.  And don't worry--that pile there on the bottom right--those are my maternity/post-maternity/clothes I wore 3 months ago that were worth keeping pile.

I think one of the most rewarding parts of the cleaning experience was finding a pair of white pants that I wore for my 31st birthday in 2010.  We were in Puerto Rico.  I had to wear a "suck in" shirt to hold everything in so that the pants would fit and the shirt didn't look awful.

The pants are too big.  I weigh about 20lbs less now.

Me.  2010.  On my way out to dinner.

I wonder what I'll wear for my 34th birthday this year.

I wonder if we'll be any place as fun as Puerto Rico.  Maybe I should have sold my clothes to make money to afford a vacation.  haha!!
